County Dog Licenses
ALL dogs in the county must have a license even if they live inside or have a fenced-in yard.

Dog licenses can be obtained from the Dog Shelter or the Athens County Auditor's office, 15 South Court Street, Room 330, Athens, Ohio 45701 Phone: (740) 592-3226. Dog Licenses can also be obtained from satellite locations. To purchase you tags online or for more information about dog licenses click here.

With money from the dog license fees, the county can afford the employees
needed to take care of the dogs of the shelter.
